Hello!  I know I’ve already welcomed you to my blog, but now I’d like to welcome you to discovering a little about me.  My name is Kari, Kari Smith to be more exact :)  My husband, Ed, & I live in Southwest Florida and have two lovely grown children.  Our daughter, Ashley, lives in Virginia and our son, Trey, currently lives in Connecticut (although that looks like it may be changing!).  I was saved at a very early age, my mom tells me I was 4.  My dad was a pastor so I was practically born in church!  While that was certainly a blessing, I was surprised to learn not too many years ago that I really hadn’t discovered myself in my Heavenly Father.  Like most people I had struck out on the journey of life, and while not realizing it had asked the Lord to bless a lot of my plans and not spent nearly enough time discovering Him, His plan for me and really seeing Him and myself through His Word.

As we go through this journey, I’ll share more of my testimony, but suffice it to say not too long ago I got to a place where I REALLY wanted to get to know my Heavenly Father, my Abba.  I wanted to know Him, understand how He sees me, how He loves me and how I can become the daughter He created me to be.  Recently, like a few weeks ago, I felt impressed by the Holy Spirit to share this journey with others.  I’m very excited to discover Him, to help others also see themselves how He sees them and “meet” other Christian sisters where together we can begin to uncover the honor, the joy of being our Father’s Daughters.  So…Welcome!!!

  1. Wow! I am even more inspired now Kari! Thank you for all that you have shared with me since we met 8 years ago (hope I added correctly)….as you know I have to rely on technology for that :) Love you and know you are exactly where you are meant to be!

  2. Kari:

Your Mom stopped by last night to see if I was feeling better. I was telling her about my blog, and she introduced me to your blog. You are an excellent writer, an obviously solid Christian, and you must know how proud your parents are of you.

We rent a unit across form them here in Corkscrew Woodlands. They are also very helpful to Mary and I when they provide their tennis drills twice a week.

I wish you continued success with your blog, contentment in sharing the Word, and gratitude for your gifts and talents.

    ~ Sincerely,

    Richard Havenga

    • Thank you Richard for your note, I very much appreciate it and your kind words! I’m glad you are enjoying the tennis drills. Mom and Dad have played tennis for a really long time, I remember us going to the courts for lessons back when I was in High School…which was quite a few years ago :) I hope you and your wife have a wonderful season!! Best, Kari
